Windsor police are looking for three suspects following a home invasion early Saturday morning in the city's west end.
Police say one of the victims answered a knock at the door of an apartment inside 525 Wyandotte St. W. around 5 a.m. and was greeted by a woman who said she needed help. Two men armed with semi-automatic weapons then forced their way into the apartment and held the occupants at gunpoint, demanding money.
One of the victims was bound with a telephone cord.
The suspects fled several minutes later, apologizing to the victims because "they had the wrong apartment."
No one was injured.
Police believe the suspects are not from the Windsor area.
The female suspect is described as black, between 18 and 24 years old, with straight dark shoulder-length hair. She is between five-foot-four inches and five-foot-six inches tall and weighs between 150 and 170 pounds. She was wearing a fur-trimmed, dark waist-length jacket with a "distinctive" shiny emblem on the back, a short dark skirt, white panty hose and red stiletto shoes.
The first male suspect is described as black, between 23 and 28 years old, more than six-feet tall and between 180 and 190 pounds. He has very short dark hair and a thin mustache. He was wearing a red and black baseball cap with a "NY" logo, a black and red striped jacket, a dark T-shirt with a white skull on the front and dark jeans with white patterns on them.
The second male suspect is described as black, between 23 and 28 years old, about five-foot-10 inches and between 190 and 200 pounds. He has a thin mustache and short dark hair in cornrows. He was wearing a dark blue do-rag, a dark blue winter jacket, dark jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the home invasion is asked to contact the Windsor police major crimes branch at 519-255-6700, ext. 4390 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS.
Ohhhhh! I'm not thru!
The man Windsor police labeled "a very violent individual" wanted in connection with the alleged gunpoint kidnapping of two 18-year-olds earlier this week has been arrested.
Just one day after publicly issuing a warrant for his arrest, Windsor police arrested 29-year-old David Lee Meadows without incident around 2:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Det. Mark Denonville said.
Denonville said anonymous tips led to Meadows' arrest outside an east side Windsor apartment building.
"There were no issues with the arrest, he was alone," Denonville said, adding Meadows was not carrying any weapons at the time of the arrest but was in possession of a substantial amount of suspected narcotics.
Meadows is the fourth suspect to be caught in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault Wednesday of two 18-year-old men who were lured into a car where they were assaulted. One of the victims escaped, but another was taken to a home on Drouillard Road where he was further assaulted and robbed of personal belongings. One of the victims' leg had also been cut with a saw, according to Windsor police.
Denonville said neither victim required hospitalization and that police are still investigating whether the incident is drug-related.
"We haven't determined the motive yet," he said. "We're still investigating that aspect of who knows who and the motive behind it."
A Windsor resident, Meadows is expected to be charged with kidnapping, robbery, possession of a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and other weapons offences. |
