Carl Leone told a court today he had no idea he was putting women's lives at risk when he engaged in unprotected sex with multiple partners over a seven-year period after being warned he was HIV-positive.

"My crime was horrendous and despicable - I deserve all the time I get," the Windsor businessman told Superior Court Justice Joseph Quinn at the conclusion of his dangerous offender hearing. The judge sentences Leone, 32, on April 4.

Nearly four years after his arrest by Windsor police detectives outside Leone's Music World, it was the first time Leone has spoken out in public on the matter. Last May, eight weeks into his trial and on the eve of his complainants taking the stand, he pleaded guilty to 15 counts of aggravated sexual assault for having unprotected sex without informing his partners of his highly infectious illness.

Five of the women, including one who was a 16-year-old virgin when she first met Leone over the Internet, subsequently tested positive for HIV.

Last week, four of his victims were ushered into a courtroom through a back door to read victim impact statements on how their lives had been drastically and permanently altered. Assistant Crown attorney Tim Kavanagh read into the record statements provided by the other women.

"It was a very painful experience," Leone said of having to listen to the testimonials. "I feel no words can truly express my true remorse," he added, reading from a prepared text.

His words were at turn remorseful for the victims but also self-pitying. The only time his speech began to break was when he described his own personal battle with HIV.

Forensic psychiatrists for both the prosecution and the defence testified earlier in the hearing that Leone was adept at crafting his responses to questions on what he felt the listener wanted to hear.

"Only God knows that I'm sincere in my remorse," said Leone, acknowledging that "some may see this as a self-serving exercise."

Leone said he's now a "changed person" and that he has found Jesus.

The Crown wants the judge to impose a life sentence and declare Leone a dangerous offender requiring him to always be under supervision.

"There hasn't been in our legal history a case with as many offences," said Frank Schwalm, another assistant Crown attorney who fought the case. He called Leone's crimes "an orgy of extreme behaviour."

Defence lawyer Andrew Bradie didn't recommend a specific number but has asked the court to be fair, take his client's "fragile health" into consideration and to set a fixed prison term.

"I'm facing some serious prison time," said Leone.

When he eventually gets out, Leone told the judge he'd like to "share my powerful, personal story" and lecture youngsters on his "sickening and criminal action."

Ok,let me get this straight....his waste of skin goes globe trotting,banging all of these chicks,well those that had the back bone to come forward to testify,not to mention this sperm deposit that his mother should have swollowed instead of opening her legs,was infecting local chicks,which in turn ruins the game for those fellaz here in windsor who are choosing to try and get with a local chick if they're not with someone at this point.

So lets keep it real,this loser walks around the streets the world over,KNOWINGLY dropping radioactive skeet in these chicks,and not telling them that he has hiv...a short step away from having full blown aids,those with half a brain knows exactly what that's called.

It's called PRE-MEDITATED MURDER!!!

This fool definitely needs to be hung in city hall square,have it televised for the world over to see, and to at least bring some closeure to those ladies that have been infected with the hiv virus,and to send a messege to those other people who have this disease both men and women that this crime will not be tolerated or allowed in our society.

And if you're dumb enough to think that just 15 ladies the world over have been infected,think again, with this idiot being able to globe trot with an open purse string...Thanks to his arogant family,there are other ladies out there who are infected who just are too scared,or ashamed to come forward,and are also spreading this disease out of anger of being infected.

Carl Leone is a MURDERER,and he should be murdered to make an impact and show that this type of crime with will dealt with harshly with a steel fist approach,and to show that these actions will not be condoned,but condemned so that no one else in the future will even think about trying to do this to any other woman in the future

Gimme a fricken break...anyone with half a brain would know that if you have unprotected sex with ppl knowing you are HIV positive, you are likely to pass it on to your partner. This is just ridiculous. He can take his prepared and written words of remorse and shove them up his ass....what an idiot! I cannot comment on the sexual side on this case, but concerning sexual infection and so-called hiv, this is another matter. If you research this issue more thoroughly then you would discover that hiv/aids has been one of the biggest medical blunders of the century - the idea of infection has been one of the biggest blunders to date. When they test for so-called hiv, they do not find any virus as such - the tests are basically antibody tests that are unspecific. This means that the antibodies that these tests find can and do cross-react with other medical conditions - for example, the effects of vaccination, pregnancy, flu, and many more things. So what in fact a hiv positive diagnosis means is that certain antibodies have been found, but this may be completely unrelated to so-called hiv. The assumption that hiv exists is also controversial as this so-called virus has never been found nor purified. Now this is very strange indeed. May I remind you that antibodies are a sign of a healthy immune system as they protect the body from harm - if the immune system did not form antibodies then we would cease to live. So to say that we have found antibodies of an unspecific nature and then to label them 'hiv' followed by a sentence of death is basically a nonsense. We have made a massive error by turning science upside down and inside out in support of failed hypothesis, and then to misinterpret the results in the way that has been done. Most if not all of the postings on this group assume that the science is correct, and that a hiv positive diagnosis translates into aids or death. This is not right and sadly Carl Leone is yet another victim of this very bad science that has become dogma and then translated into mass hysteria. If we put the so-called virus to one side, then his only crime is one of consensual sex or not.
