History Has Been Made

[On tha low Brotha]

On this night,a night that alot of us thought would never happen in out lifetime,something did happen.

After getting back from the gym,i threw off my shoes,and planted my self on the couch to watch barack obama give his acceptance speech as the next elected president of the United States Of America.

But it was more then that,i sat here thinking back to all the news footage that i have seen through the years,from the riots in detroit,to the marches down in alabama,to fire hoses being turned on black people down south,to lynchings,to mrs rosa parks not giving up her seat,to all the speeches that Dr Martin Luther King made through the years, to fred hampton being murdered in his own bed in chicago by the hands of the FBI,CIA,and local police,to the National Black Independent Political Party,coming,and basically going, to Detroit Red,to Emmett Till, and it boggle's my mind to think that,in this short period of time,a black man has become elected by the people to be the 44th president of the United States Of America.

It's almost like a dream that has been in the works since the days of Dr Martin Luther King Jr,but at the same time,i know that this night is as real as it gets.
