Earlier this year there was a huge flap over the use of words we shouldn't be using in the first place. This year, questions where raised by the hip hop community about who should be the one to check hip hop and it's language. In fact Mr Banner and other notable major hip hop artists saw fit to openly give their two cents in defense to recklessly glamorize the ills of our ghetto community. But where are they now when it really counts? Where is Mr. Banner who got into the verbal battle with Rev.Al Sharpton and had the audacity to question his credibility, where are they? Where is the Windsor Hip Hop community that saw fit to weigh in on the subject of the N-word and the W-word. Where are they? Where is the T.O and it's megaphone when it really counts? Where are the voices?
The civil rights battle of your lifetime is in progress, injustices of our times are in progress and where are we?
If you don't know Ok I can understand that, but if you do know and you choose to standby and not say, or do anything to help your fellow human you must understand that your are a COWARD! Whether you are a hip hop artist(including wannabe gangstas) or simply a regular citizen you know right from wrong. This is WRONG!
Stand UP! Call you local news stations, radio stations, newspapers. The World must Speak Up! Ask them why multi millionaire Britney Spears cutting her hair is a bigger news story?, or why Paris Hilton is a bigger news story?, why 50 and Kanye is a bigger news story? Yet Black Teens getting into a simple defensive fight are charged and sentenced to 22 years in prison is barely worth airtime?
Hip hop community, ask yourself, why are you to big of a coward to speak up or do anything?

| who cares, we will never change the way the media is. Why do you want to be in the spot light so bad? our city is f***ed, full of crack, hookers. what the f*** is that? i don't wana be known for living in crack vill - Im from Drouillard. crack central so many hookers an crack heads everywere, all the johns that go around looking for hookers, or try to pick up a little girl, shit i have a 13 year old sister, an my dad just died from crack on the 3rd. this city is f***ed, no one cares about windsor. its the biggest (one of) crossing's into the United States of America so much drugs come throw. over the trucks, now they go an make a f***ing new big ass tunnel for trucks only, a park on the top that probably cost more then 100k easy/ just to build the crossing into detroit was probably 5 mill + - look at all the homeless people. having to go to the downtown mission, take a walk by the Salvation Army. Take a look at some of the f***in nut jobs in there, with no were to go so they have to sleep on a gym floor the rest of there life, waiting for there next meal. An people are worried about how some kid went to jail an dident get the attention he deserved? Wow. That's all i have to say about that, we need to look into "Helping out our community" an then maybe Windsor hip hop will be recognized again. make a donation fund, to the homeless of windsor, or help someone in rehab. cleep the streets. Start a protest to make a by law, of prostitution to be completely stopped. If there picked up once automatic 2 years pen time. we can protest about anythingif we get alot of people to sign for what ever it is, then a by law has to be made. thats how the political system works, we are in control not them. |

Logan I feel you on all that since I am studying Social Work, but this Jena6 thing is completely wrong!! The fact that racism is still affecting the world the way it is is a serious issue.....can I ask you a personal question? Without starting any drama or anything....what is your ethnicity? |

Sorry about your Pops.
As to your issue; I feel your pain brother but you have to recognize that some folks simply don't want anything out of life, therefore they get exactly that. Nothing. Believe it or not some people are just fine with that. Otherwise they'd be looking for a better way. Those that look, find!
As for the money going into the city infrastructure(new tunnel project etc), it's a necessary part of an advancing society. We have no choice but to go forward. The leaders of this city are doing exactly that, leading. Just remember, everybody thought that spending big money on developing the river front was a big waste of money. What do they think now? Detroit copied us, from the Casino to the Riverfront, Windsor did it first! That's leadership. I for one, Thank Them and all of our future civic leaders!
FYI: The cost for the tunnel will be in the 100's of millions and worth it.

You should look in to story more before you make an uninformed comment about it. The 17 year old boy was being sent to jail for 20years for getting into a fight. His 5 friends received similar unfair sentences. The same kids beat the 17 year old the week before got no penalty for them at all. It a long unfair story. Watch the video again and put yourself in their shoes.

I know this won't sound right to most but there is nothing wrong with prostitution. People have to have an outlet. If people can't get sex normally they do stupid things to get it... rape, incest, seducing kids etc. When people can just go buy it the desire to risk committing a crime to get it goes way down.
Logan, I've grew up in the city, West side. Droullard and the West use to compete to see which area was worse(LOL! Some goal huh?). I saw it all. All i can say to you is this, stop looking for the bad, and look for the good in the city. There are a lot of amazing things happening here. As well some truly inspiring people. The thing is you have to look to find it.
For yourself be a leader, you have great passion and ability to communicate, people need to hear that but from a positive leadership point of view.
Go forward with New Vision!
